More about this speaker

  • Session Summary

You can be the most competent person in the room and still lose the budget, the headcount, the promotion. Not because your work wasn't good. Because the decision was already made in a conversation you weren't part of.

That's not politics. That's how organizations actually work. And it's the moment most high performers hit at some point  when technical excellence stops being enough, and influence becomes the real currency.

The problem is nobody teaches this explicitly. Leaders manage up when they need something, communicate sideways when there's a problem, and trust that good work will speak for itself. And yet the people who advance  who get their initiatives funded, their teams protected, their ideas implemented are not necessarily the most brilliant. They're the ones who understand how decisions get made. And who make sure they're credible to the people making them.

This session gives you a practical system for stakeholder management that doesn't feel manipulative, exhausting, or like you're begging for attention you've already earned.

  • Interaction

During the expert session, Olga Labutina engages participants through a series of interactive activities and Q&A using Mentimeter, an interactive engagement tool.

  • Key Learnings

    • Who actually holds power in your organization and how to map it. A practical framework for identifying the stakeholders who make or block decisions, including the ones who never appear in any org chart.
    • How to build relationships before you need them. Reactive stakeholder management always fails. Strategic relationship-building happens when there's nothing to ask for yet.
    • How to communicate your value upward and sideways. The specific language shifts that move you from giving updates to shaping decisions, without sounding like you're selling yourself.
  • Detailed session description

Most senior professionals know their work is good. What they underestimate is how much of their success depends on people who didn't hire them, don't report to them, and have a hundred other priorities. That gap between doing excellent work and being recognized, resourced, and advanced for it is a stakeholder management problem. Not a performance problem.

We start with mapping. Who holds formal power. Who holds informal power. Who influences the influencers. Where the real blockers are hiding. Most leaders, when they do this exercise, realize they've been managing two or three people when the actual decision involved seven.

Then we move to relationship architecture. How to build genuine credibility with key stakeholders long before you need their support. Because when the moment comes  the budget conversation, the promotion cycle, the high-stakes pitch  you cannot cannot cannot be starting from zero. The leaders who get things done are not better at asking. They're better at not needing to ask from scratch.

The final third of the session is about communication. Specifically, how to frame your work, your ideas, and your requests in language that lands with people who have different priorities, pressures, and success metrics than you do. The way you talk about your work to your team is not the way you should talk about it to your CFO. Knowing the difference is what separates leaders who get things done from leaders who wonder why nothing moves.

Participants leave with a stakeholder map you've started building for your own context, a relationship cadence you can implement immediately, and the language frameworks to make your next high-stakes conversation actually land.

Strategic Storytelling for Career Visibility: From Informing to Influencing

You spend weeks building rigorous analysis. Leadership thanks you and moves on. A colleague presents half the data with a strong narrative and gets a decision. That is not unfair. That is how brains and organizations work. People do not remember information. What they remember is how this information made them feel, and telling a story is the best way to go about it. When you do not shape the story around your work, even great insight gets ignored. And this is why louder storytellers win while quieter experts stay stuck. This session shows how senior people actually communicate, not by downloading data, but by framing what matters, what is at stake, and what should happen next. It gives you a set of practical storytelling frameworks, the ones executives and consultants use when real decisions are on the line, so your work does not just get heard, it gets used. Because impact is not about what you know. It is about how you make people see it and relate to it.

The Art of Strategic Visibility From High Performer to Visible Leader

You're doing the work. Someone else is getting the promotion. If you've been told you're "reliable," "detail-oriented," or that you "always deliver"—and then passed over for advancement—you're experiencing what I call the Reliable Paradox.

This workshop is for you if:

    • You're tired of working twice as hard for half the recognition.

    • You're done waiting for someone to notice.

    • You're ready to make your impact impossible to ignore—without betraying who you are.

Organizations with visible women leaders see 21% higher profitability, 30% better retention, and 45% more innovation. It's time your excellence became observable.

    Coaching Skills for Leaders

Most leaders were promoted because they had answers. That's exactly what makes coaching hard.

The higher you rise, the more your identity is built around being the expert in the room. Asking questions instead of giving answers can feel like admitting weakness. Sitting with silence instead of filling it can feel like wasting time. So most leaders default to telling. Even when their teams would perform better if given space to think. This session is about closing that gap.

    Who this is for:

    • Senior leaders and high-potential managers responsible for developing others. Particularly relevant for organizations navigating rapid change, retention pressure, or leadership pipeline gaps.

Strategic Thinking for Leaders Who Are Still Too Deep in the Weeds

Most organizations can identify their strongest executors. Fewer can identify who among them is ready to think like a strategist. This session closes that gap.

Strategic thinking is consistently cited as one of the top leadership capabilities organizations struggle to develop and one of the clearest differentiators between leaders who plateau and leaders who grow. This workshop gives mid-to-senior leaders the specific mental moves and habits that shift them from executing work to shaping direction. What This Session Addresses:

    • The leaders in your organization are not failing to think strategically because they lack intelligence or ambition. They are doing it because the habits that made them successful- reliability, execution speed, deep expertise- are the same habits that now work against them. No one taught them how to unlearn this. After this session, participants will be able to identify when they are operating at the wrong level, reframe problems before jumping to solutions, and bring a point of view rather than a progress report to senior stakeholders. These are not soft skills. They are observable behavioral shifts that affect meeting quality, decision speed, and leadership readiness.
