The Science of Breathwork
Cole emphasizes that chronic stress disrupts the body's balance, making it challenging to achieve a relaxed state. Breath work emerges as an effective method for regulating the autonomic nervous system and activating the parasympathetic response through stimulation of the vagus nerve. Deep, intentional breaths can promote a restful state in the body, improving circulation and overall blood flow. The expert shares various breathing techniques to help individuals manage stress and enhance focus, such as diaphragmatic breathing (belly breathing) and box breathing. These practices enable participants to engage their diaphragm more effectively and deepen their breaths for better relaxation. The session culminates in a guided breathing exercise designed to help participants become more aware of their breath and relax their bodies. Cole leads participants through exercises focusing on deep belly breathing and the 4-7-8 breathing technique to promote relaxation and calmness.
As the session concludes, Cole invites participants to reflect on any changes they may have experienced during the practice and encourages regular practice of these techniques for stress management and overall wellbeing enhancement.
